HOW TO BOOK

• Please use the book now button to complete your booking for course spaces; all dates and course places are listed on our BookWhen system.

• If you are looking to undertake a private guided experience, then please complete a contact form to make an enquiry for this. This will allow you to check our availability to book a day with LDM

• For courses that have dates displayed, please contact us if the dates listed aren't convenient for you as we may able to offer bespoke courses

PAYMENT

• You can book online via our Bookwhen system, the system will ask for payment in full and is verified by Stripe for secure payments

• Bespoke/private days will be confirm with an invoice/payment link; this will be paid via a secure link supplied by our business bank

• Full payment is required for any booking made up to 30 days before the course/activity date 

• A minimum deposit may apply otherwise for events that are taking place more than 30 days from the booking date (50% deposit applies)

VOUCHERS

• If you have purchased vouchers with us, then please contact us to use them. We are happy to discuss large group discount if mentioned when booking.

COURSE FEES

• Course places must be reserved online or via email and a minimum deposit will apply.

• The balance of the course fee is payable before the course commences.

• In the event that the course fee is not paid in full Lake District Mountaineering reserve the right to refuse you to participate on the course or event.

CANCELLATION BY CLIENT

• All cancellations must be made in writing by email

• Once notified of the cancellation by email Lake District Mountaineering will attempt to sell your place(s)

• In the event that Lake District Mountaineering is able to re-sell the course place prior to the commencement date of the course, the client will receive a full refund less £25 of the course cost to cover administration fees.

• Refunds will only be made after the commencement date of the course.

• Should you cancel, the following applies:

  • LDM will keep your deposit if the cancellation is made over 6 weeks (42 days) before the start date of the course unless we can resell the place. (£25 admin fee applies) 

  • LDM will keep the full fee paid if the cancellation is made less than 6 weeks before the course start date unless we can resell the place.

• To cover this eventuality we recommend an insurance policy that includes cancellation or curtailment of your trip or holiday.

• Injury to you before an event does not entitle a refund of any kind.

CANCELLATION BY LAKE DISTRICT MOUNTAINEERING

• Although we will attempt to ensure that courses run as scheduled, in the event that Lake District Mountaineering need to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances we will notify the client as soon as possible.

• Lake District Mountaineering will notify clients no less than five full days prior to a course start date if a course needs to be cancelled.

• Lake District Mountaineering takes no responsibility for any other financial losses incurred i.e travel costs etc

• In the event of cancellation by Lake District Mountaineering clients will be offered the following options:

  • Another course on different dates.

  • Full refund of the course fee paid.

• To cover this eventuality we recommend an insurance policy that includes cancellation or curtailment of your trip or holiday.

WINTER COURSE CONDITIONS​

• If winter in the Lake District does not prevail, the course will still run should it be safe to do so. 

• Lake District Mountaineering offer a mountain skills course for further mountaineering skills as a replacement to the winter syllabus. ​

• Lake District Mountaineering do not accept any liability over expenses lost due to cancellation on your part (the client) 

• To cover this eventuality we recommend an insurance policy that includes cancellation or curtailment of your trip or holiday.
