This policy explains the cookies our website uses. It goes with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your personal information.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser, so that it can remember something from one page to the next, such as that you are logged in or which course you are booking. This policy also covers other information our website keeps in your browser, and calls it all cookies.

The cookies we use

We use only the cookies our website needs to work. The law allows these without asking for your permission, which is why our website does not show a cookie banner. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Booking a course or workshop

  • woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart: hold the date and number of places you have chosen while you complete your booking. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • wp_woocommerce_session_ (followed by a code): links your booking to our website while you complete it. Kept for 2 days, or 7 days if you are logged in.
  • While you fill in the checkout, the names you type for each place are kept in your browser until you finish booking, so they are not lost if you go back a page. They are deleted when you close the tab.

Paying

  • __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid: set by Stripe, which processes our card payments, on our checkout and payment pages to help prevent fraud. __stripe_mid is kept for 1 year and __stripe_sid for 30 minutes. Stripe's privacy policy explains how Stripe uses them.

Your account

  • wordpress_logged_in_ and wordpress_sec_ (each followed by a code): keep you logged in to your account. Deleted when you close your browser, or after 14 days if you tick "Remember me".
  • wordpress_test_cookie: checks that your browser accepts cookies when you log in. Deleted when you close your browser.

Keeping our website secure

  • __cf_bm: set by Cloudflare, which our hosting provider uses to protect our website from automated traffic and attacks. Kept for 30 minutes.

Showing the website

  • wpEmojiSettingsSupports: notes which emoji your browser can show, so that our pages display them correctly. Deleted when you close the tab.

Videos in our Knowledge Hub

Some articles show videos hosted by Vimeo. We show them in Vimeo's "do not track" mode, so Vimeo does not use cookies to track you. Vimeo, or the service that protects it from automated traffic, may set security cookies of its own.

Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings; your browser's help pages explain how. If you block the cookies above, you will not be able to book online or log in to your account.

If this changes

If we ever want to use cookies that are not needed for our website to work, such as analytics, we will ask for your permission first and update this policy.
