Join us for a second day and learn more advanced techniques. We will show you what to do next and perform rescues in more complex terrain.

OVERVIEW
Develop from our Self Rescue 1 course and progress into day 2.
Day 2 of this course will be a scenarios day, where we are looking to perform rescues by utilising the skills learnt on day 1.
The working knowledge we have developed will be put into practice - we are looking at what to do next and gain judgement towards selecting the appropriate techniques for the terrain and the situation.
We will then look into more complex systems and emergency techniques such as:

Counter balance abseils

Abseiling with an injured climber

Multi pitch descents with an injured climbers

Traverse rescue scenarios when appropriate

Course Ratios
1:4 Ratio - 4 people per 1 instructor
We will be using single pitch terrain and the instructor will be able to supervise up to 4 people (2 teams)
A party larger than 4 will require multiple instructors - we can supply instructors adhering to our ratios - please enquire.
Feel free to book as an individual, and we will try to find another climber to run at 1:2 and maximise learning opportunities. If you want an exclusive booking, then please let us know and will run at 1:1.
Pre-Requisites
Wear and fit a harness correctly
Tie a rethreaded figure of eight knot
We recommend prior climbing experience such as:
Be leading at VDiff/Severe or above - single pitch only leading is fine
We can work from your current skill set
Equipment
All technical equipment is provided.
We will share kit lists with you during the booking stage
Ropes and climbing hardware all provided and inclusive of the price
Harness & Helmet provided but
ideally you will have your own
Your own belay plate and prussic cords would be ideal
You will need to wear suitable outdoor clothing and have your own rock shoes.
Venue
Our venues are carefully selected and tailored to get the most out of the programme.
We regularly use the Langdale & Borrowdale valleys but there are many good areas to choose from - let us know where you're saying and we can tailor the programme
We will use well known climbs, allowing us to teach in contact on real world terrain.
