For those looking to expand their map reading skills and progress into competent mountain navigators.
Max Ratio 1:6
£90pp - up to 6 spaces
If the day runs on a 1:1 ratio - it will run as a half day
This course will build on the previous navigation programme. We will look at the complexity of timing and pacing and progress towards intricate contour interpretation. More advanced compass work will be detailed on this course, such as taking and following bearings and using back bearings. We hope to ensure people leave with the confidence to navigate in mountain terrain and poor visibility by the end of this course.
We would expect you to wear hill and mountain clothing suitable for the conditions on the day. Please read the kit lists for hill walking.
We will provide maps of the area we will be covering but we advise you to buy and bring along your own Silva Expedition 4 compass to practice with and use going forward.
