Here at LDM, we know the mountain intimately - we guide the mountain in summer and winter. LDM have safely ran courses, guided fellow walkers and scrambled over Striding Edge many time and have intimate knowledge of the mountain and its surrounding area.

Our hand selected guides are knowledgeable, safe and experienced on the mountain and know the terrain well so you're in good hands for your trip.
The starting location for this walk is in Glenridding.
The route head up Mire's Beck and onto Birkhouse Moor. From here we will the path into the infamous Hole in the Wall and the beginning of Striding Edge.
You will be guided over the ridge, with the instructor on hand to route find, coach your movement and safgaurd any tricky sections on route, this will take you onto the summit.
From here, it is down via Swirral Edge and an optional extra on the walk is Catstyecam, another summit before we descend via Greenside Mines.

A guided walking day is 5+ hours long. We meet for 9:00am and should arrive back at the cars for 3:00-4:00pm - the length of this days means we can reach the high fells and provide a full itinerary for the day.

Our instructors can lead up to 6 people in the mountains and on Striding Edge.
A party larger than 6 will require multiple guides - we can accommodate this on enquiry.
Pre-Requisites
No experience necessary
We can accommodate any experience level - route choices will be discussed during the booking stage
We can run the day in line with your experiences and skillset and tailor the day for you.
Equipment
We will share kit lists with you during the booking stage
You will need to wear suitable outdoor clothing (warm and waterproof where possible) and suitable mountain footwear (boots)
A good rucksack to carry everything you need for the day is advisable
Venue
Our route choices are carefully selected and tailored to get the most out of the day
LDM are here to coach, guide and instruct you throughout the day, and we have taken many nervous scramblers over the ridge
The meeting location is in glenridding will be shared during the booking stage.
