OVERVIEW

Winter means snow on the ground, and ice in the gullies.

 

Based in The Lake District - LDM offers a guided service for winter walking and mountaineering, throughout the National Park.

 

For these days, you will need to wear suitable clothing for winter mountaineering, including a full set of waterproofs, warm layers, hat & gloves, ski goggles and winter walking boots.

These boots should be rigid and rated to B1/B2 standard (we can advise during the booking stage).

 

We can provide crampons, ice axe, helmets and other technical equipment.

Our instructors can take up to 6 people walking in winter & 4 people winter mountaineering. 

 

 

 

 

Pre-Requisites 

Experience of hill walking in summer conditions. 

 

You will need to be fit and healthy and able to walk in the snow carrying a rucksack.

Equipment

All technical equipment is provided. 

We will share kit lists with you during the booking stage

Crampons & axes provided 

You will need to wear suitable outdoor clothing and have appropriate mountain footwear 

(B1/B2 boots - these are rigid to take crampons)

Our venues are carefully selected and tailored to get the most out of the day.

If cancellation occurs within 30 days of the course or activity, we will retain 50% of the full price (your deposit).

If cancellation is within 14 days of the activity we will retain the full amount.
