Passionate about inspiring others

Here at Lake District Mountaineering, we pride ourselves on delivering high quality and customer focussed skills courses, instructional days and experiences.

We hope to provide experiences to last a lifetime, inspire you in amazing environments and teach you the skills to become independent to enjoy the beautiful natural spaces we have to offer in the Lake District.

Most of your adventures will be run and guided by Sam.  When this is not possible, we work closely with a small, hand selected group of outdoor professionals - this means we can draw upon the first-rate experience and knowledge of our team to guarantee a memorable experience.  All of our associate instructors are qualified, experienced, insured and first aid trained.

All of our chosen activity venues and locations have been carefully selected using local knowledge and this means we can tailor courses and experiences to meet the needs and expectations of all of our customers, allowing us to offer a first-rate experience.  Our ratios are small, allowing us to provide maximum contact time with your instructor.

LDM is proud to be a member of and affiliated with professional organisations such as the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and the Mountain Training (MTA).

These organisations oversee the training and qualification process that LDM has progressed through, allowing us to be up to date with best practice in the industry to deliver safe, fun and positive sessions for all.

The equipment supplied by Lake District Mountaineering is high quality, and has been chosen from selected premium brands within the outdoor industry, guaranteeing you a safe and comfortable experience
