Scrambling in Langdale - Middlefell Buttress

Course Outline

This course is a progression from the introductory scrambling course.  For people comfortable at grade 1 and 2 but looking to develop technical skills to safeguard themselves on grade 3.

Day 1 will cover aspects such as planning and preperation and discussions about clothing, gloves and gear will take place.  We will teach some fundmental climbing skills such as; tying in, belaying and placing and removing gear. Movement coaching and climbing styles will be discussed before day 2.

This day is a progression and allows a chance to practice skills learnt from day 1 in a mountain setting.  Depending on ability levels, there will be a chance to practice independent scrambling and we will move into pitching harder sections of a scramble, protecting these tricky steps and discussing how to be efficient and set up for success on grade 3 terrain.

This course works best when booked for 2 people
