This day will allow you the opportunity to abseil at a Lake District slate quarry.

We generally run from 9:00am until around 1:00pm

The quarry walls are flat, smooth and steep; perfect for abseiling down!

On the day, we will meet you at Hodge Close quarry.

We can abseil here but we prefer to go to Cathedral Quarry.  This is a 20 minute walk through the woods.

We will provide you with all of the safety equipment you need.  This includes a helmet and a harness.

We will head through the old tunnels and explore the caverns on the way to the abseiling areas.

There we will set up the ropes for you.  There will be a full and comprehensive demonstration and you will get a chance to practice.

From here, its over the edge and down the wall.

You are controlling your own abseil and the speed you go, the instructor is on hand to keep you safe and back up the system as you abseil down.

The big one is next, up to 45 metres of sheer rock, with a free hanging section towards the bottom.

Come and give it a go if you're brave enough!
