OVERVIEW
LDM offers full adventures days for groups, families, stag & hen parties. These days are bespoke and tailored for your group.
We will supply the same instructor for the full day.
The day runs from 9:00am - 4:00pm and includes two activities, with a lunch break in between.
This day is based in the South Lakes, and is good for those staying close to Windermere, Ambleside or Coniston and their surrounding areas.
On the day, you will meet your instructor at Hodge Close Quarry, near Coniston
This session will allow you the opportunity to abseil down sheer walls and vertical rock faces and experience the thrill walking backwards down the wall, controlling your descent.
Your instructor will manage the session as you undertake the abseil. They will rig the abseils safely and provide a clear demonstration on how to abseil.
You will control your own decent as you go but we will always have a backup rope clipped to you for ultimate safety.
After lunch, the instructor will take you canyoning in Church Beck.
There is a change in location for this - we will supply a meeting location for the afternoon, or you can follow the instructor to the next venue.
Church Beck is an aquatic canyon, and you will be fully immersed in the water all the way through the trip.
After a few waterfalls abseils, the canyon will narrow and we will head down into the slot section of the gorge. Here we have a series of jumps that need to be undertaken in order to progress down.
From here, we encounter the infamous slide of Church Beck - sitting on the rock slide you will slide down and into the deep pool below.
There are more lowers/abseils lower down and some small jumps allow progress down to the main waterfall before exiting the canyon.
The experience can be tailored to the group, allowing for easier and harder variations depending on age and ability levels.

We will provide you with the following for a comfortable and enjoyable day:

Please wear swimwear under the wetsuit and a pair of shorts over the top of the wetsuit.
Please bring a towel and a hot drink for afterwards.
Sturdy trainers or walking boots are advised - no open toe footwear or water shoes.

This is an introductory day and is good for kids and families alike.
The ghyll has lots of fun challenges but everything is optional

We provide wetsuits, harness, spray cags, helmets and bouyancy aids as necessary for the day
You will need to bring sturdy trainers, a change of clothes and a towel

This session is based from Hodge Close Quarry and we will move to Coniston for the afternoon
We will meet you on location with everything you need for your session
Church Beck is an aquatic canyon and the will to get wet is necessary
Abseiling is an exploration of the Little Langdale quarries
